INSPECTION
Orange Paint 1. INSPECT POWER BACK DOOR MAIN SWITCH
(a) Inspect the resistance of the main switch.
Standard:
Terminal No. Condition Specified Condition
Pushed Free (ON) Below 1
4 -5
Pushed (OFF) 10 k or higher
If the result is not as specified, replace the switch.
(b) Apply battery voltage and check the illuminates.
Standard:
Measurement Condition Specified Condition
Battery positive (+) Terminal 1
Illuminates
Battery negative (-) Terminal 2
Free (ON)
Pushed (OFF) Bulb
HINT:
Whether the switch illuminates or not will not affect the function
of the LH side.
If the result is not as specified, replace the bulb.

Power Back Door Switch 2. INSPECT SATELLITE SWITCH
(a) Inspect the resistance of the back door switch.
Standard:

Free (OFF) 10 k or higher

If the result is not as specified, replace the switch.
(b) Apply battery voltage and check whether the switch illumi-

(a) Inspect the resistance of the switch.

Open 6. INSPECT POWER BACK DOOR DRIVE UNIT
(a) Remove the unit.
(b) Apply battery voltage to the terminals and check the mo-
tor operation.
Standard:
Measurement Condition Specified Condition
Battery positive (+) Terminal 8
Open
Battery negative (-) Terminal 7
Battery positive (+) Terminal 7
Close
Battery negative (-) Terminal 8
If the result is not as specified, replace the drive unit.
(c) Check the resistance of the clutch terminals.
Standard:
Close

3 -9 4.0
If the result is not as specified, replace the drive unit.
(d) Reinstall the unit with the connector connected.

(e) Check the pulse of the pulse sensor.
10 V 10 ms
(1) Using an oscilloscope, check the pulse generated
when the door is manually opened and closed.
Standard (Reference):
GND Terminal 1 - 2, 2 - 5
Tool setting 10 V/DIV., 10 ms/DIV.
Vehicle condition Door moving
If the result is not as specified, replace the drive unit.
1 cycle of approx. 10 to 20 msec.
B68909 HINT:
A cycle of the pulse changes between approx. 10 to 20 msec.
according to the speeds that the slide door is moving.
(f) With the connector connected, check the voltage of the
terminals of the power back door drive unit connector.
7. POWER BACK DOOR WARNING BUZZER
(a) Check the resistance of the buzzer.
Standard:
Terminal No. Specified Condition
1-2 Approx.1 k
If the result is not as specified, replace the buzzer.
NOTICE:
S The circuit that causes the buzzer to sounds is built
B68880 into the back door ECU, not around the buzzer.
S Directly applying battery voltage to the buzzer does
not cause the buzzer to sound.
