SEAT - FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH (POWER SEAT TYPE)

OVERHAUL
CAUTION:
S Always wear safety gloves because the edges of the seatback frame and seat adjuster are
sharp and may cause injury.
S Work must be started more than 90 seconds after the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK posi-
tion and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery.
(The SRS is equipped with a back-up power source. If work is started within 90 seconds from
disconnecting the negative (-) terminal cable of the battery, the SRS may deploy.)
HINT:
S Installation is in the reverse order of removal. However, special points concerning installation are indi-
cated.
S Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSY
2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSY LH
(a) Using a screwdriver, pry out the 2 seat track covers.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(b) Disconnect the connectors under the seat.
(c) Remove the 4 bolts and the seat assy.
NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the body.

3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT SIDE TABLE LEG COVER (W/ TABLE)
(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the claws and remove the seat side table leg cover.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT SIDE TABLE (W/ TABLE)
(a) Remove the 4 nuts and seat side table.
(b) Remove the 2 clips and seat side table cover.
5. REMOVE OCCUPANT DETECTION ECU (PASSENGER SEAT ONLY) (SEE PAGE 60-67 )
6. REMOVE RECLINING POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB
(a) Using a screwdriver, remove the reclining power seat
switch knob.
HINT:
Tape up the screwdriver tip before.

7. REMOVE SLIDE & VERTICAL POWER SEAT SWITCH
KNOB
(a) Using a screwdriver, remove the slide & vertical power
seat switch knob.
HINT:
Tape up the screwdriver tip before.

8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD INNER LH
(a) Remove the 7 screws.
(b) Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws and clip, and remove the front seat cushion shield LH to-
gether with the front seat cushion shield inner LH and front seat cushion shield inner No.1 LH.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(c) Remove the screw and front seat cushion shield inner LH from the front seat cushion shield inner No.1
LH.
9. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD INNER NO.1 LH
(a) Remove the screw and front seat cushion shield inner No.1 LH from the front seat cushion shield LH.
10. REMOVE POWER SEAT SWITCH (DRIVER SEAT
ONLY)
(a) Remove the 2 screws and the power seat switch.

11. REMOVE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH
(a) Disconnect the connector.
(b) Remove the 3 screws and power seat switch LH.

12. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH
(a) Disconnect the connectors.
(b) Remove the nut and inner belt assy.
13. REMOVE FRONT SEAT TRACK COVER LH FRONT OUTER
(a) Remove the clip, 2 screws and seat track cover front outer.
14. REMOVE FRONT SEAT TRACK COVER LH FRONT INNER
(a) Remove the clip, 2 screws and seat track cover front inner.
15. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER LH ARMREST ASSY
(a) Using a screwdriver, pry out the armrest cap.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(b) Remove the bolt and armrest assy.
(c) Remove the 2 washers and 2 spacers.

16. REMOVE SEAT CUSHION COVER WITH PAD
(a) w/ Seat heater:
Disconnect the connector.
(b) Disengage the clamps and hooks.
(c) Disengage the hooks and remove the seat cushion cover
with pad.

17. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER
(a) Remove the hog rings and the separate type front seat cushion cover.

18. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER ASSY LH (W/ SEAT HEATER)
(a) Cut off the tack pins which fasten the seat heater and then remove the front seat heater from the cush-
ion cover.
NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the seat cushion cover.
19. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK BOARD LH

(a) Disengage the clips.
(b) Remove the seatback board by pulling it out in the arrow
mark direction shown in the illustration.

(a) Disengage the claw and remove the 2 headrest supports.

(a) w/ Side airbag:
Remove the nut and disengage the separate type front
seatback cover bracket.
(b) Remove the hog rings and disengage the hooks.

23. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK HEATER ASSY LH (W/ SEAT HEATER)
(a) Cut off the tack pins which fasten the seat heater and then remove the front seat heater from the front
seatback cover.
NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the seatback cover.
24. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH
(a) Remove the 2 screws and the reclining adjuster inside
cover LH (lower).

(b) Remove the 2 screws and the reclining adjuster inside

29. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LWR RH
HINT:
Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
30. REMOVE LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSY LH
(DRIVER SEAT ONLY)
(a) Disconnect the connector.
(b) Remove the 2 screws and the lumbar support adjuster
assy LH.

(a) Place the seat heater on the seatback cover.
(b) Install the seat heater to the seatback cover with new tack pins.
NOTICE:
Do not substitute other metal parts for tack pins.

34. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK COVER LH
Hog Ring Pliers (a) Install the seatback pad.
(b) Cover the top of the seatback pad with the seatback cov-
er.
(c) Using hog ring pliers, completely install the seatback cov-
er with new hog rings.
NOTICE:
S Be careful not to damage the cover.
B50126 S When installing the hog rings, take care to prevent
wrinkles as much as possible.

35. INSTALL SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD
(a) Install the seatback cover with pad.

(b) Using hog ring pliers, install new hog rings and hooks.
Hog Ring Pliers NOTICE:
S Be careful not to damage the cover.
S When installing the hog rings, take care to minimize
wrinkles as much as possible.

(c) w/ Side airbag:
Install the seatback cover bracket with the nut.
Torque: 5.5 Nm (56 kgfcm, 48 in.lbf)
NOTICE:
S For a vehicle with side airbag, the side airbag may not
be activated normally unless the seatback cover is
securely installed.
S Check that the strap has no twist after installing the
B86918 bracket.
(d) Attach a rubber wire with new hog rings, as shown in the
illustration.
(e) Using hog ring pliers, install new hog rings.
NOTICE:
S Be careful not to damage the cover.
S When installing the hog rings, take care to prevent
wrinkles as much as possible.

36. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER LH ARMREST ASSY
(a) Install the armrest with the bolt.
Torque: 20 Nm (200 kgfcm, 14 ftlbf)
(b) Install the armrest cap.

37. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER ASSY LH (W/ SEAT HEATER)
(a) Place the seat heater on the seat cushion cover.
(b) Install the seat heater to the seat cushion cover with new tack pins.
NOTICE:
Do not substitute other metal parts for tack pins.

38. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION
Hog Ring Pliers COVER
(a) Install the seat cushion pad to the seat cushion cover.
(b) Using hog ring pliers, install the seat cushion cover to the
seat cushion pad with new hog rings.
NOTICE:
S Be careful not to damage the cover.
S When installing the hog rings, take care to prevent
B50126 wrinkles as much as possible.
39. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH
(a) Install the inner belt assy with the nut.
Torque: 41 Nm (418 kgfcm, 30 ftlbf)
HINT:
Check that the inner seat belt assy moves smoothly.
(b) Connect the connectors.
40. INSTALL OCCUPANT DETECTION ECU (PASSENGER SEAT ONLY) (SEE PAGE 60-67 )
41. INSTALL FRONT SEAT SIDE TABLE (W/ TABLE)
(a) Install the seat side table with 4 nuts.
Torque: 13 Nm (133 kgfcm, 10 ftlbf)

42. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSY LH
(a) Place the seat assy in the cabin.
NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the body.
(b) Connect the connectors under the seat assy.
(c) Tighten the 2 bolts on the front side of the seat assy.
Torque: 37 Nm (375 kgfcm, 27 ftlbf)
(d) Tighten the 2 bolts on the rear side of the seat assy.
Torque: 37 Nm (375 kgfcm, 27 ftlbf)
(e) Install the 2 seat track covers.
