SEAT - FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH (FOLD FLAT TYPE)

OVERHAUL
CAUTION:
S Wear safety gloves, because the sharp surfaces of the seatback frame and seat adjuster may
injure your hand.
S Work must be started more than 90 seconds after the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK posi-
tion and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery.
(The SRS is equipped with a back-up power source. If work is started within 90 seconds from
disconnecting the negative (-) terminal cable of the battery, the SRS may deploy.)
HINT:
The installation procedures are the removal procedures in reverse order. However, only installation proce-
dures requiring additional information are included.
1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSY
2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSY RH
(a) Using a screwdriver, pry out the 2 seat track covers.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(b) Disconnect the connectors under the seat assy.
(c) Remove the 4 bolts and the seat assy.
NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the body.
3. REMOVE OCCUPANT DETECTION ECU (SEE PAGE 60-67 )
4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD INNER RH
(a) Remove the screw.
(b) Using a screwdriver, disengage the claws and remove the cushion shield inner.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY RH
(a) Disconnect the connectors.
(b) Remove the nut and inner belt assy.

6. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE
RH
(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the claws and remove the
reclining adjuster release handle.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD RH
(a) Remove the screw.
(b) Using a screwdriver, disengage the claws and remove the cushion shield.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT TRACK COVER RH FRONT INNER
(a) Remove the clip, 2 screws and seat track cover front inner.
9. REMOVE FRONT SEAT TRACK COVER RH FRONT OUTER
(a) Remove the clip, 2 screws and seat track cover front outer.

10. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER RH ARMREST ASSY
(a) Using a screwdriver, remove the armrest cap.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(b) Remove the bolt and armrest assy.
(c) Remove the 2 washers and 2 spacers.

11. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK SHIELD LH
(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the claws and remove the reclining adjuster release handle.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(b) Remove the screw and seatback shield.
12. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK SHIELD RH
HINT:
Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

13. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK BOARD RH

(a) Disengage the clips.
(b) Remove the seatback board by pulling it out in the arrow
mark direction shown in the illustration.

14. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK SPRING ASSY
(a) Remove the 4 bolts and seatback spring assy together with the seat back cover.
15. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK LOCK ASSY LH
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and seatback lock assy.
16. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK LOCK ASSY RH
(a) Remove the reclining connecting pipe.
(b) Remove the 2 bolts and seatback lock assy.
17. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HINGE COVER LH
(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the claws and remove the seat hinge cover.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
18. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HINGE COVER RH
HINT:
Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

19. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT
(a) Disengage the claws and remove the 2 headrest sup-
ports.

20. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK COVER RH
(a) w/ Side airbag:
Remove the nut and disengage the separate type front
seatback cover bracket.
(b) Remove the hog rings and seatback cover together with
the pad.
(c) Remove the hog rings and seatback cover.

21. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER
(a) Disengage the hook and remove the seat cushion cover together with the pad.
(b) Remove the hog rings and seat cushion cover.

22. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH
(a) Remove the screw and the reclining adjuster inside cover
LH (lower).

24. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH
(a) Remove the screw and the reclining adjuster inside cover
LH (upper).

HINT:
Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

26. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LWR LH
(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the claws and remove the
front seat cushion shield lower LH.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

HINT:
Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

28. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION
Hog Ring Pliers COVER
(a) Install the seat cushion pad to the seat cushion cover.
(b) Using hog ring pliers, install the seat cushion cover to the
seat cushion pad with new hog rings.
NOTICE:
S Be careful not to damage the cover.
S When installing the hog rings, take care to prevent
B50126 wrinkles as much as possible.

29. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK COVER RH
Hog Ring Pliers (a) Install the seatback pad.
(b) Cover the top of the seatback pad with the seatback cov-
er.
(c) Using hog ring pliers, completely install the seatback cov-
er with new hog rings.
NOTICE:
S Be careful not to damage the cover.
B50126 S When installing the hog rings, take care to prevent
wrinkles as much as possible.

(d) w/ Side airbag:
Install the seatback cover bracket with the nut.
Torque: 5.5 Nm (56 kgfcm, 48 in.lbf)
NOTICE:
S For a vehicle with side airbag, the side airbag may not
be activated normally unless the seatback cover is
securely installed.
S Check that the strap has no twist after installing the
B86918 bracket.

(e) Attach a rubber wire with new hog rings, as shown in the
illustration.
(f) Using hog ring pliers, install new hog rings.
NOTICE:
S Be careful not to damage the cover.
S When installing the hog rings, take care to prevent
wrinkles as much as possible.

30. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK LOCK ASSY RH
(a) Install the seatback lock assy with 2 bolts.
Torque: 43 Nm (439 kgfcm, 32 ftlbf)
31. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK LOCK ASSY LH
(a) Install the seatback lock assy with 2 bolts.
Torque: 43 Nm (439 kgfcm, 32 ftlbf)
32. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK SPRING ASSY
(a) Install the seatback spring assy with 4 bolts.
Torque: 43 Nm (439 kgfcm, 32 ftlbf)
33. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER RH ARMREST ASSY
(a) Install the armrest assy with the bolt.
Torque: 20 Nm (200 kgfcm, 14 ftlbf)
(b) Install the armrest cap.
34. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY RH
(a) Install the inner belt assy with the nut.
Torque: 42 Nm (428 kgfcm, 31 ftlbf)
HINT:
Check that the inner seat belt assy moves smoothly.
(b) Connect the connectors.
35. INSTALL OCCUPANT DETECTION ECU (SEE PAGE 60-67 )
36. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSY RH
(a) Place the seat assy in the cabin.
NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the body.
(b) Connect the connectors under the seat assy.
(c) Tighten the 2 bolts on the front side of the seat assy.
Torque: 37 Nm (375 kgfcm, 27 ftlbf)
(d) Tighten the 2 bolts on the rear side of the seat assy.
Torque: 37 Nm (375 kgfcm, 27 ftlbf)
(e) Install the 2 track covers.
