SEAT BELT - FRONT SEAT BELT

REPLACEMENT
HINT:
S The installation is in the reverse order of the removal. However, when there is a special point concern-
ing the installation, it is indicated.
S On the LH side, use the same procedures as on the RH side.
1. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH (See page 72-12 , 72-22 )
3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY RH
(a) Remove the nut and inner belt.
4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (See page 76-27 )
5. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (See page 76-27 )
6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WEATHERSTRIP RH (See page 76-27 )
7. REMOVE REAR DOOR WEATHERSTRIP RH (See page 76-27 )
8. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LOWER RH (See page 76-27 )
9. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH UPPER RH (See page 76-27 )
10. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSY RH
NOTICE:
S Removal operation concerning the seat belt with the
pretensioner must be started in 90 seconds or more
after the ignition switch is turned OFF and the battery
negative terminal is disconnected.
S Carefully read the notices for the "pretensioner" in
the SRS airbag system and the outer belt assy.
(a) Remove the nut and the front seat outer belt on the shoul-
der anchor side.
(b) Disconnect the pretensioner connector, as shown in the
illustration.
(c) Remove the 2 bolts and outer belt.

11. REMOVE FRONT SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR ADJUSTER ASSY
(a) Remove the bolt and anchor adjuster.
12. INSTALL FRONT SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR ADJUSTER ASSY
(a) Install the anchor adjuster with the bolt.
Torque: 42 Nm (430 kgfcm, 31 ftlbf)

13. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSY RH
Unlock 45_ NOTICE:
Do not disassemble the retractor.
(a) Check the degree of tilt when beginning to lock the ELR.
(1) Check that the belt does not lock within 15_ of tilt in
Lock
all directions but that the belt locks with over 45_ of
tilt, when gently moving the retractor.
Retractor If operation is not as specified, replace the outer belt assy.
B69492 (b) Install the retractor with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 42 Nm (430 kgfcm, 31 ftlbf)
(c) Install the shoulder anchor with the nut.
Torque: 42 Nm (430 kgfcm, 31 ftlbf)
(d) Install the center pillar garnish upper RH
(See page 76-27 ).
(e) Install the center pillar garnish lower RH
(See page 76-27 ).
(f) Install the floor anchor with the bolt.
Torque: 42 Nm (430 kgfcm, 31 ftlbf)
(g) Install the floor anchor cover.
(h) Check the ELR lock.
NOTICE:
The check should be performed with the assembly
installed.
(1) Check that the belt locks when pulling out the belt
quickly when the belt is installed.
If operation is not as specified, replace the outer belt assy.
(i) Check the fastening function of the child restraint system.
NOTICE:
The check should be performed with the assembly
installed.
(1) Check that the belt cannot be pulled out any more
but can be rewound after the belt is fully pulled out.
(2) Check that the belt can be pulled out and rewound
after the belt is fully rewound.
If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.
14. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY RH
(a) Install the inner belt with the nut.
Torque: 42 Nm (430 kgfcm, 31 ftlbf)
