SEAT BELT - REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE BELT ASSY OUTER

REPLACEMENT
HINT:
S The installation is in the reverse order of the removal. However, when there is a special point concern-
ing the installation, it is indicated.
S On the LH side, use the same procedures as for the RH side.
1. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (See page 76-27 )
2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH
3. REMOVE REAR DOOR WEATHERSTRIP RH (See page 76-27 )
4. REMOVE BACK DOOR WEATHERSTRIP
5. REMOVE BACK DOOR SCUFF PLATE (See page 76-27 )
6. REMOVE QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSY FRONT RH (See page 76-27 )
7. REMOVE RR WINDOW SIDE GARNISH ASSY RH (See page 76-27 )
8. REMOVE REAR NO.1 SEAT BELT ASSY OUTER RH (7- PASSENGER)
(a) Remove the rear seatback board RH (See page 72-44 ).
(b) Remove the rear seat shoulder belt cover (See page 72-44 ).
(c) Remove the bolt, nut and seat belt.
9. REMOVE REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE BELT ASSY OUTER (8- PASSENGER)
(a) Remove the nut and disconnect the belt on the shoulder anchor side.
10. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT BELT ASSY OUTER CTR (8- PASSENGER)
(a) Remove the rear seatback board CTR (See page 72-44 ).
(b) Remove the rear seat shoulder belt cover (See page 72-44 ).
(c) Remove the bolt, nut and seat belt.
11. REMOVE REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE BELT ASSY INNER
(a) Remove the bolt and belt.
12. REMOVE REAR SEAT LAP TYPE BELT ASSY CENTER (8- PASSENGER)
(a) Remove the bolt and belt.
13. INSTALL REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE BELT ASSY INNER
(a) Install the bolt and belt.
Torque: 43 Nm (438 kgfcm, 31 ftlbf)
14. INSTALL REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE BELT ASSY
OUTER (8- PASSENGER)
NOTICE:
Do not disassemble the retractor.
Unlock (a) Check the degree of tilt when the belt begins to lock the
45_
ELR.
(1) Check that the belt does not lock within 15_ of tilt in
all directions but that the belt locks with over 45_ of
tilt, when gently moving the retractor.
If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.
Lock
(b) Install the belt with the bolt on the retractor side.
Torque:
8.5 Nm (87 kgfcm, 75 in.lbf) for upper bolt
42 Nm (430 kgfcm, 31 ftlbf) for lower bolt
(c) Install the quarter trim panel front RH
(See page 76-27 ).

(d) Install the belt on the floor anchor side with the bolt.
Torque: 42 Nm (430 kgfcm, 31 ftlbf)
(e) Check the ELR lock.
NOTICE:
The check should be performed with the assembly
installed.
(1) Check that the belt locks when pulling out the belt
Front quickly when the belt is installed.
B66522 If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.
(f) Check the fastening function of the child restraint system.
NOTICE:
The check should be performed with the assembly
installed.
(1) Check that the belt cannot be pulled out any more
but can be rewound after the belt is fully pulled out.
(2) Check that the belt can be pulled out and rewound
after the belt is fully rewound.
If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.
15. INSTALL REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE BELT ASSY INNER (7- PASSENGER)
(a) Install the seat belt inner with the bolt.
Torque: 42 Nm (430 kgfcm, 31 ftlbf)
16. INSTALL REAR NO.1 SEAT BELT ASSY OUTER RH
(7- PASSENGER)
(a) Install the belt with the bolt and nut.
Torque: 42 Nm (430 kgfcm, 31 ftlbf)
Unlock 45_ (b) Install the rear seat shoulder belt cover
(See page 72-44 ).
(c) Install the rear seatback board RH
(See page 72-44 ).
(d) Check the degree of tilt when the belt begins to lock the
Lock ELR.
(1) Check the belt does not lock within 15_ of tilt in all
directions but that the belt locks with over 45_ of tilt,
when gently moving the retractor.
If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.
(e) Install the belt assy with the bolt.
Torque: 42 Nm (430 kgfcm, 31 ftlbf)
(f) Check the ELR lock.
NOTICE:
B70145 The check should be performed with the assembly
installed.
(1) Check that the belt locks when pulling out the belt
quickly when the belt is installed.
If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.
(g) Check the fastening function of the child restraint system.

17. INSTALL REAR SEAT LAP TYPE BELT ASSY CENTER (8- PASSENGER)
(a) Install the belt with the bolt.
Torque: 42 Nm (430 kgfcm, 31 ftlbf)
18. INSTALL REAR NO. 1 SEAT BELT ASSY OUTER CTR
(8- PASSENGER)
(a) Install the belt with the bolt and nut.
Torque: 42 Nm (430 kgfcm, 31 ftlbf)
Unlock 45_ (b) Install the rear seat shoulder belt cover
(See page 72-44 ).
(c) Install the rear seatback board CTR
(See page 72-44 ).
(d) Check the degree of tilt when the belt begins to lock the
Lock ELR.
(1) Check that the belt does not lock within 15_ of tilt in
all directions but that the belt locks with over 45_ of
tilt, when gently moving the retractor.
If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.
(e) Install the belt with the bolt.
Torque: 42 Nm (430 kgfcm, 31 ftlbf)
(f) Check the ELR lock.

B70145 The check should be performed with the assembly
installed.
(1) Check that the belt locks when pulling out the belt
quickly when the belt is installed.
HINT:
The seat belt does not lock when the pull-out amount of the belt
is 955 mm (37.60 in.) or less.
If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.
(g) Check the fastening function of the child restraint system.
NOTICE:
The check should be performed with the assembly
installed.
(1) Check that the belt cannot be pulled out any more
but can be rewound after it is fully pulled out.
(2) Check that the belt can be pulled out and rewound
after the belt is fully rewound.
If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.
