                                    If continuity is not as specified, replace the switch and check the
                                    bulb.




                                    2.    INSPECT DEF. MODE SWITCH
                                    (a)   Check the continuity exists between terminals 1 and 3 of
 To "DEF. or F/DEF."
                                          the blower switch connector when turning the mode se-
                                          lector to the DEF. position and F/DEF. position.
                                    If no continuity exists, proceed to the next step.

                                    (b)    Check the continuity exists between the terminals of the
                                           A/C mode switch.
                                    If no continuity exists, replace the A/C mode switch.
       OFF               ON
                                    If continuity exists, check or replace the heater control housing
                                    base.
