INSPECTION
1. INSPECT BACK POWER WINDOW SWITCH CONTI-
NUITY
Switch Position Tester Connection Specified Condition
UP 1 - 3, 2 - 6 Continuity
OFF 2 - 3, 2 - 6 No continuity
DOWN 1 - 6, 2 - 3 Continuity
No Pin If the continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.

Wire harness side 2. CHECK BACK WINDOW CONTROL RELAY CIRCUIT
(a) Disconnect the connector from the relay, and check the
connector on the wire harness side, as shown in the table
below.

6 - Body ground Ignition switch OFF or ACC ON 0 V 10 to 14 V
8 - Body ground Limit switch OFF ON 10 k or higher Below 1
9 - Body ground Constant Continuity

12 - Body ground Ignition switch OFF or ACC ON 0 V 10 to 14 V
If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction on
the wire harness side or limit switch.
(b) Reconnect the connector to the relay, and check the con-
nector on the wire harness side, as shown in the table be-
low.

4 - Body ground 0 V 10 to 14 V
S Limit switch OFF
S Switch not pressed (OFF) Pressed (UP)
S Ignition switch ON

S Switch not pressed (OFF) Pressed (DOWN)
If the result is not as specified, replace the relay.

3. CHECK BACK POWER WINDOW MOTOR PTC
4 1 4 1 THERMISTOR OPERATION
(a) Disconnect the connector from the window motor.
(b) Connect the positive (+) lead from the ammeter to termi-
nal 1 of the wire harness side connector and the negative
(-) lead to the negative terminal of the battery.
(c) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal
2 of the wire harness side connector, and slide the window
I27478 to the fully closed position.
(d) Continue to apply voltage and check that the current
4 1 4 1 changes to less than 1 A in 4 to 90 seconds.
(e) Disconnect the leads from the terminals.
(f) Approximately 60 seconds later, connect the positive (+)
lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the negative (-)
lead to terminal 2, and check that the window begins to
moves down.
If operation is not as specified, replace the power back window
I27479 regulator and motor assembly.
4. INSPECT POWER MAIN RELAY CONTINUITY

If the continuity is not as specified, replace the relay.

6. INSPECT WINDOW LIMIT SWITCH CONTINUITY

If the continuity is not as specified, replace the power back win-
dow regulator and motor assembly.
