INSPECTION
1. INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH
CONTINUITY
Switch Position Tester Connection Specified Condition
UP 2 - 3, 4 - 5 Continuity
OFF 2-3-5 Continuity
DOWN 2 - 4, 3 - 5 Continuity
I08152 If the continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.
2. INSPECT POWER MAIN RELAY CONTINUITY

If the continuity is not as specified, replace the relay.

3. Driver side door:
INSPECT POWER WINDOW MOTOR OPERATION
(a) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal
1 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 2, and check that
the motor turns clockwise.

(b) Reverse the polarity and check that the motor turns coun-
terclockwise.
If operation is not as specified, replace the motor.

4. Passenger side door:
INSPECT POWER WINDOW MOTOR OPERATION
(a) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal
2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1, and check that
the motor turns clockwise.

(b) Reverse the polarity and check that the motor turns coun-
terclockwise.
If operation is not as specified, replace the motor.

5. Rear right door:
INSPECT POWER WINDOW MOTOR OPERATION
(a) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal
1 and the negative (-) lead to terminals 2, then check that
the motor turns clockwise.

(b) Reverse the polarity, and check that the motor turns coun-
terclockwise.
If operation is not as specified, replace the motor.

6. Rear left door:
INSPECT POWER WINDOW MOTOR OPERATION
(a) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal
2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1, then check that
the motor turns clockwise.

terclockwise.
If operation is not as specified, replace the motor.

7. Driver side door:
INSPECT POWER WINDOW MOTOR PTC THERM-
ISTOR OPERATION
(a) Disconnect the connector from the motor.
1 (b) Connect the positive (+) lead from the ammeter to termi-
nal 1 of the motor side connector and the negative (-) lead
to negative terminal of the battery.
2 (c) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal
I27172 2 of the motor side connector, and raise the window to the
fully closed position.
(d) Continue to apply voltage and check that the current
changes from approximately 14 A to less than 1 A within
4 to 90 seconds.
(e) Disconnect the leads from the terminals.
(f) Approximately 90 seconds later, connect the positive (+)
lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the negative (-)
lead to terminal 2, then check that the window begins to
move down.

8. Passenger side door:

ISTOR OPERATION
(a) Disconnect the connector from the motor.
(b) Connect the positive (+) lead from the ammeter to termi-
nal 2 of the motor connector and the negative (-) lead to
negative terminal of the battery.
(c) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal
I21325 1 of the motor connector, and raise the window to the fully
closed position.
(d) Continue to apply voltage and check that the current
changes from approximately 14 A to less than 1 A within
4 to 90 seconds.
(e) Disconnect the leads from the terminals.
(f) Approximately 90 seconds later, connect the positive (+)
lead from the battery to terminal 2 and the negative (-)
lead to terminal 1, then check that the window begins to
move down.

9. Rear left door:

INSPECT POWER WINDOW MOTOR PTC THERM-
ISTOR OPERATION
(a) Disconnect the connector from the motor.
(b) Connect the negative (+) lead from the ammeter to termi-
1 nal 1 of the motor connector and the negative (-) lead to
negative terminal of the battery.
(c) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal
I27174 2 of the motor connector, and raise the window to the fully
closed position.

(d) Continue to apply voltage and check that the current
2 1 changes from approximately 14 A to less than 1 A within
4 to 90 seconds.
(e) Disconnect the leads from the terminals.
(f) Approximately 90 seconds later, connect the positive (+)
lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the negative (-)
lead to terminal 2, then check that the window begins to
move down.
I27175 If operation is not as specified, replace the motor.
10. Rear right door:

ISTOR OPERATION
(a) Disconnect the connector from the motor.
(b) Connect the negative (+) lead from the ammeter to termi-
nal 2 of the motor connector and the negative (-) lead to
negative terminal of the battery.
(c) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal
I27176 1 of the motor connector, and raise the window to the fully
closed position.
(d) Continue to apply voltage and check that the current
2 1 changes from approximately 14 A to less than 1 A within
4 to 90 seconds.
(e) Disconnect the leads from the terminals.
(f) Approximately 90 seconds later, connect the positive (+)
lead from the battery to terminal 2 and the negative (-)
lead to terminal 1, check that the window begins to move
down.
I27177 If operation is not as specified, replace the motor.
