                                 PARKING BRAKE PEDAL                                     BR109-05


                                 ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
                                 1.     CHECK PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL
                                 Depress the parking brake pedal all the way and count the num-
                                 ber of clicks.
                                        Parking brake pedal travel at 294 N (30 kgf, 66 lbf):
                                        8 to 10 clicks
                        F07755
                                 If incorrect, adjust the parking brake.

                                 2.   IF NECESSARY, ADJUST PARKING BRAKE PEDAL
                                      TRAVEL
                                 HINT:
                   Adjusting     Before adjusting the parking brake, make sure that the rear
                   Nut           brake shoe clearance has been adjusted. For shoe clearance
                                 adjustment, see step 3 on page BR-52.
                                 (a) Remove the scuff plate LH.
        Lock Nut                 (b) Remove the cowl side trim LH.
                        F08199   (c) Remove the lower finish panel.
                                 (d) Remove the No. 2 heater to register duct.
                                 (e) Loosen the lock nut and turn the adjusting nut until the
                                       pedal travel is correct.
                                 (f)   Tighten the lock nut.
                                       Torque: 5.4 N
