RS-154   SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM   -   OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU (Except Separate
                                             Seat)

                                 REMOVAL
                                 NOTICE:
                                  S    If the wiring connector of the SRS is disconnected
                                       with the ignition switch in the ON position, DTCs will
                                       be recorded.
                                  S    Never use SRS parts from another vehicle. When re-
                                       placing the parts, replace them with new ones.
                                  S    Never reuse an occupant classification ECU if an air-
                                       bag has previously deployed in a collision.
                                 1.    PRECAUTION (SEE PAGE RS-1 AND RS-3)
                                 2.    When only occupant classification ECU is removed:
                                       REGISTRATION (SEE PAGE DI-1828-1)
                                 3.    DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY
                                       TERMINAL
                                 Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the
                                 airbag working.
                                 4.    Bench type:
                                       REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY
                                       (SEE PAGE BO-165)
                                 5.    Split type:
                                       REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY
                                       (SEE PAGE BO-188)




                                 6.    REMOVE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU
                                 (a)   Disconnect the connector from the occupant classifica-
                                       tion ECU.
                                 (b)   Remove the 2 bolts and the occupant classification ECU.
