                    TEST INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION T18

ABSTRACT
This document describes the test installation instruction for standard repair package for T18.


APPLICATION
This document contains information over what software and hardware must be installed. It also
describes how to perform the installation and configuration used in the standard service package for
T18.

1. GENERAL
The standard service package is built up with a test set, a computer and interface cables. A hardlock is
required for security reasons.


2. HARDWARE
All test hardware must be approved by Ericsson and is documented in Equipment List.


2.1 TEST SET
A test set approved according to Equipment List must be used.
Instructions for test set installation according to instrument manufacturer.
The self executing test software and options according to Equipment List must be present.


2.2 ANTENNA CABLE

Connect antenna cable to RF gate and antenna connector.


2.3 COMPUTER
IBM compatible computer with Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows NT.


2.4 HARDLOCK
Hardlock with article number KRY 105 165 is required. Connect hardlock to the parallel port.


2.5 SERVICE CABLE
Connect service cable to one of the serial ports on the PC and to the system connector according to fig-
ure.


3. SOFTWARE
No repair shell is required.


3.1. EMMA SHELL
3.1.1. Download Emma shell if not already installed and all T18 software into an empty directory.
3.1.2. Start the downloaded EXE file from Windows RUN option, the software will now self-extract
into more files.
3.1.3. Start SETUP.EXE in the temporary directory from Windows RUN option.
3.1.4. There will be on-line instructions during the installation.
3.1.5. The software is installed in the proper shell under the flash directory.
3.1.6. Erase all files in the temporary directory
The software is self-instructing and gives on-line instructions if needed.
